President's Message

Posted: December 6, 2023

As we recover from Thanksgiving and enter the holiday season, let’s talk about service. Obviously, we serve our clients every day in the best way that we can.

How do you serve your larger community? This can take a lot of different forms. Do you volunteer your professional services? Do you volunteer in a non-PT role somewhere in your community? Do you contribute financially (or otherwise) to causes that are important to your heart and mind? Let us know—share with us on social media - Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. Let our community support your community!

Finally, how do you serve your profession? Volunteering for APTA Home Health is rewarding in so many ways. As your president, I am thankful for the support of our members. Being a volunteer leader and committee member for APTA Home Health over the past sixteen years (Finance Committee, Treasurer, and now President) has given me so many opportunities and connections, both personally and professionally, and opened doors for me that would have otherwise remained closed. This would not be possible without the numerous fellow volunteers and Academy members that I have encountered along the way. Please consider giving yourself the same opportunities while helping to better the profession of physical therapy. Whether a PT, PTA, or student, we have room for you! Please reach out to me directly at [email protected] so I can help you find the best fit for your interests and time commitment.

Also, please help us honor your colleagues who serve our clients and our profession so well by nominating them for our “Academy Awards”. Click here for more information and submit your nomination by December 17th!

Be well and be kind to each other during this season of joy.

Sincerely,

Phil Goldsmith
President
APTA Home Health
